A new scraping, clicking or other unusual sound calls for stopping the wheel and following its manufacturer’s fault guidance. Note when it began and whether it came with a change in speed, vibration or smell.
Stop a new fault instead of recording it repeatedly
Stop if an unfamiliar sound appears, especially with unusual movement, odor or a control problem. The Artista manual directs owners to stop and seek support for unusual noise. Do not prolong operation merely to make the recording clearer.
Once disconnected, look for obvious external contact from a misplaced accessory. Keep the housing closed. Tell support what you found rather than assuming that removing an obstruction proves no damage occurred.
Name the machine before naming a component
The SHIMPO VL-WHISPER uses direct drive; the VL-LITE uses a belt system. A loose-belt explanation cannot apply identically to both. Supply the model and version before following a service procedure.
SHIMPO’s support videos include dust-cover and other model-specific work. A matching word such as “whirring” in a video title is not enough to establish the cause. Let the manufacturer connect the symptom to the procedure.
Make the description specific
Write down what happened immediately before the sound became noticeable. Fitting a pan, changing a bat or moving the station provides useful context without proving a cause. Note whether the sound appeared at startup or during throwing and whether speed or movement changed with it.
If a recording is requested, keep covers in place and the camera outside the moving area. Follow support’s directions and stop if operation appears unsafe. Include a separate photograph of the label so the service team can identify the machine.
Keep normal room noise out of the diagnosis
Phone microphones, distance and room surfaces affect a recording. Two clips from different rooms do not establish which wheel is quieter. A manufacturer’s noise figure also needs matching measurement conditions before it supports a comparison.
