First decide what is moving: the pedal casing across the floor, the pedal under your foot, or the wheel speed when you did not intend a change. These are different symptoms and should not share one guessed adjustment.
The casing slides away
With the wheel off, check the floor, cable route and seating position. Remove spills and make sure the lead is not pulling the pedal sideways. Place it where your leg can operate it without stretching or twisting your body.
Any nonslip support must leave the intended pedal travel and ventilation clear. Do not wedge the control partly down, tie it in position or route the cable across the place where you stand. Test your reach with the machine disconnected before the next session.
The pedal feels stiff or obstructed
Inspect the exterior for an object blocking travel or a damaged casing. Describe the resistance to the manufacturer before opening anything.
SHIMPO has model-specific tension and potentiometer procedures for certain pedals. Confirm that the exact procedure applies to your wheel and is appropriate for owner maintenance. A screw in a similar position on another pedal need not do the same job.
The speed changes unexpectedly
If the wheel starts without the intended command or cannot be stopped through its ordinary controls, take it out of use and contact support. Do not keep working around the fault by holding the pedal at a guessed position.
For intermittent behavior, note what you observed: a delay after a command, an abrupt change during steady use or a symptom first noticed after moving the station. Do not recreate a hazardous event to collect evidence. Keep other users informed that the control needs assessment.
A replacement needs a model match
Photograph the pedal label and give support the wheel’s complete model and requested serial information. A matching plug does not establish electrical compatibility. Obtain the approved part number before ordering.
An optional pedal is a separate question from repairing an existing one. Speedball documents an Artista pedal accessory; that does not authorize fitting an arbitrary controller to it or another hand-controlled wheel. After an approved repair or conversion, follow the prescribed return-to-use checks and retain the instructions with the equipment.
