Prepare the next setup while putting the wheel away: leave it clean and dry, keep its fittings together and choose a position from which it can be retrieved safely. Storage under a bench is useful only if the next lift is manageable.
For the gap between sessions
Disconnect power after cleanup. Remove residue from pan joints and loose accessories, then let cleaned parts dry appropriately before enclosing them. Do not leave a wet sponge or cloth in the pan just to keep the kit together.
Keep controls and cables free of loads from stored objects. Bats, boxes and boards need their own support rather than resting on the machine. Follow the manufacturer’s permitted storage conditions if the space is damp, unheated or subject to temperature changes.
For a longer period away
Photograph any approved accessory arrangement you plan to dismantle. Put its small fittings in a labeled container, with the wheel name on the label. Record the model and serial number somewhere accessible without moving the stored machine.
Keep the manual, receipt and service history with that record. If the wheel will pass to another user, include what was removed and how it is intended to be reassembled. A bag of unidentified screws is not a useful handoff.
For transport or service shipment
Plan the route, doorway clearance, lifting help and final support before moving the wheel. Use its machine weight rather than assuming the shipping weight describes what you will lift. A pan edge or cable is not a carrying handle; follow the maker’s lifting instructions.
Shipment requires different protection from storage in the same room. The Artista manual recommends retaining the original shipping containers and specifies packaging in its service process. Ask what must be returned before packing the wheel, pedal and accessories.
Photograph the packed arrangement for your records and label detached parts. Do not assume that a generic box protects the machine adequately because the lid closes. Obtain the appropriate transport instructions for the model.
Before reconnecting
Remove covers and packing material, inspect exterior cables and fittings, and reassemble the approved configuration. Check pan seating and control access in the new position.
If the machine was wet, damaged in transit or stored outside its permitted conditions, ask for guidance before trying it. Otherwise follow the manual’s startup sequence and pay attention to any unfamiliar response.
